I signed up with Digital Journal on or about May 12, 2010 purely to comment on an article about convicted murderess Linda Carty. After that, I thought nothing more of it until out of the blue I was contacted by David Silverberg who asked me if as a Londoner I would like to write something about the then forthcoming Royal Wedding.

I was skeptical; I had written news articles before, including for Model Journal, but it is not really my field of interest, and I suspected the remuneration would not be great. I was right on the second point, but as most of the stuff I write attracts no direct financial reward, I decided to give it a bash. I should have known better, and with my addictive personality I was soon hard at it churning out news articles left, right and centre.

The first article I wrote was The Venables File; this attracted a fair number of pageviews. I was encouraged by this, however, my third article was pulled, apparently because they – ie Silverberg – was afraid Levi Bellfield might sue for defamation. I kid you not. Earnings for Digital Journal were paid out by Paypal promptly on the first of the month for the previous month unless the amount earned was less than $10, in which case it was rolled over. I wrote only a handful of articles in April 2011, so did not receive a Paypal until June 1, which was for a nice $108.75. Obviously that didn’t pay the rent, but it was enough to retain my interest, and I began contributing heavily. The next month I received $140.15. On September 1, 2011 I received $151.10, but after that it was down, down, down. On July 1, 2012, I received only $55.96; on May 1, 2013, payment was a paltry $34.98. My final payment was February 1, 2014, for the sum of $54.67.

I have corresponded with someone who gave me a slightly conspiratorial explanation for this; suffice it to say I did not consider this meagre remuneration to reflect the quality and certainly not the quantity of my work. This article was obviously written by someone with a grudge, but it does make a couple of valid points. That being said, slavery is not voluntary, and as for exploitation, I commented on that later in the year in my first Digital Journal blog.

Having said that, there had been a massive falling off on my pageviews and earnings since the August 2011 peak (paid September 1), something I find difficult to explain by anything except a rigged counter.

This screengrab was taken at 15.09 London time on February 12, 2014. As can be seen, at the time I was booted from the site, I had no less than 22 drafts pending. Of the two shown, the second was published recently as a blog, albeit with a slightly different title; the other has yet to be published, and may be shelved. Three or four others have been published by AllVoices, and others are long term projects. For example, I was planning another false rape timeline; much of that information has already been compiled, and will probably be published as a blog.

In the nearly three years that I wrote for this website I published some fantastic articles – in all modesty. I mean like stuff about Basic Income/usury, the Grand Conspiracy, false rape, debunking of smooth liar Clive Stafford Smith, and polemics against the spirtual sickness of male homosexuality. During that time a number of articles were pulled for various reasons, some of them I found either contrived or bizarre. I will give just two examples. In February 2013, there was an article about a firm called Daniel Footwear. As earlier that month I had published a similar one, I couldn’t and still can’t understand why it was withdrawn.

Also, Silverberg asked me at one point to stop writing articles that debunked the 9/11 Truth crowd, apparently because they were generating an enormous number of comments from nutters. He told me too to stop publishing articles about poker; I wasn’t too happy about that, and was livid that he deleted numerous screengrabs I’d posted from poker games without informing me first. Several times he edited my articles in ways that made them nonsensical, and I had to tell him about this. He and other editors deleted other photographs too, again usually without comment. There were other things too, but I won’t go into detail here.

In August the same year, an article about psychic charlatan June Field was deleted due to its alleged defamatory content. I was really annoyed at this, and wrote that I would (soon) be jacking in the site, but my anger soon abated because a rewritten version published by AllVoices was also deleted, and it was clear both had been removed under pressure. The arrogant bitch even e-mailed me and boasted about this.

Some of my articles were deemed racist – but is there anything that isn’t nowadays? And sexist – bore, bore. And of course homophobic, and there were complaints, some of which were relayed to me by Silverberg, but I stood by what I had written – as I always will – unless I can be shown to be wrong, in which case I will publish a full retraction/apology.

I did this with the article ‘The Lewisham Means Business’ exhibition. This was one of no fewer than eight articles published on February 6, 2014. By this time I had well over nineteen hundred articles active on the site; my intention was to publish the 2,000^th such article by the end of March, and then either quit the site or to write for it only occasionally. Things did not turn out quite like that, because the self-styled Business Detective Ola Agbaimoni complained to the management about what I considered – and still consider – to be a tongue-in-cheek comment.

Okay, the remark about her being bald was insensitive, I apologised for that, and that apology was and is sincere. As someone who is even less physically attractive and has by and large always been so, I can take it as well as dish it out, but I accept that on this occasion I should not have. It was intended as humour, period. However, in her complaint she went on to claim it was not only insulting but sexist and “I even have to question whether or not the authors tone and attack were racially motivated as he made no reference to any of the other speakers. I am the only woman and black person amongst them.”

Let me get this right, you were unhappy with what you called an attack on you – which again was not intended as an attack – and you are even unhappier because I didn’t insult your white collaborators as well? Hmm. The reference to Dave Lee Travis was certainly not intended as any sort of sexual innuendo. Travis said he was the sort of bloke who would give a friend a hug, which was one of the reasons he had been targeted for allegations of sexual assault, allegations which I did not and do not for one minute believe.

On top of that, Ola was so outraged at this article that she republished it in full on her own blog. I suppose if I were so inclined I could report her for a copyright violation, but frankly I found this – combined with her righteous indignation – to be more than a little amusing.

Nevertheless, this led to my writing privileges being revoked. I tried to reason with Silverberg, without success, but TheDarkMan does not grovel for or to anyone. I wrote a few more news articles, for AllVoices. I don’t know the precise total because Digital Journal closed my account, but in the less than three years since I signed up with the latter I have published a shade over two thousand news articles, 1,960+ for Digital Journal. I also published 70+ blogs on Digital Journal; blogs were abandoned last year.

Without wishing to sound either paranoid or conspiratorial, someone was looking for an excuse to get rid of me altogether – not Silverberg, someone higher up the food chain – probably under pressure from an advertiser. They found it with the publication of an urban legend as fact. Anne Sewell lives in Spain; from our personal correspondence, I think the word that best describes her is cunt. Whatever, she found a story in the Spanish media about an exploding toilet, paraphrased it, and published it as an article, with both Digital Journal and AllVoices. This is an urban legend that I heard when I was a schoolkid, and the dearth of information in all published versions of the story indicates that is it nothing more than a recycled hoax. As I have pointed out many times, urban legends do sometimes come true, but this one did not, at least not on this occasion. Sewell then went on to add what she called a number of other sources, which corroborated the story. The reality is that this story originated from a Spanish radio station – as far as can be ascertained – and has simply been parrotted and paraphrased all across the media. I have researched it as best I can, but short of going to Barcelona...

Sewell has done no research on this story at all, and every time I added a comment to it, she deleted it. I complained about this, and it was me who was sanctioned.

On March 1, 2014 I received the following e-mail from Support:

Alexander, in light of complaints by users on Digital Journal of your behaviour on the network, we have decided to close your account. That means you can no longer comment or suggest revisions. We thank you for your time spent on Digital Journal these past few years, but we have come to a point where we must part ways.

Sure you do. Fuck you. I sent one more e-mail, and was told that the thirty of so dollars I had earned that month was forfeited, and that Sewell’s story was true. Sure, and there is a pig flying by.

I considered this to be most unprofessional, and was angry. For about a week. As I have made clear before though, I was going to pack in this site sooner rather than later, and indeed my time has already been stretched due to my taking on another long term commitment. After massive scanning operations setting up both The David Webb Virtual Archive & Fan Site and The NCROPA Virtual Archive, I allowed myself to be roped into scanning the archive papers of the Campaign Against Censorship. This is already well underway, and will also result in a substantial addition to the NCROPA material. To date I have scanned over 200 documents from the CAC papers which will be added to The NCROPA Virtual Archive, probably later this year.

In spite of the shabby treatment I received from Digital Journal and my personal disappointment in Silverberg, I will not badmouth the site as have some. It was a fantastic outlet which I exploited to the full in the short time I was there. Having said that, the standard of articles is predictably low. If you pay peanuts you get enthusiasts as well as monkeys, but enthusiasm per se is not a good thing. A few examples will suffice.

There are a number of daffy women who contribute or contributed to the site; one was Eileen Kersey, who was also given the boot. Here is her assessment of it. As you will see, it is far less objective and a lot more scathing than mine. Digital Journal did not waste either my time or my money. True, it did take up a lot of time at the time, but I would have been doing other things otherwise, which would not have been financially rewarding, and which would almost certainly have cost me money. It remains to be seen how it could have added stress to her life, and it is a small venture how, precisely? I must agree with her about its pay scales, which are almost certainly rigged, but again, writing for it is not compulsory, and she was surely not in it for the money.

Kersey is frankly unbelievable; the going got tough when someone called her a daffy woman. Wonder who that was!! And she reported it. Unreal. I’ve met this type of woman, this type of person, many times before; she is a serial complainer. If Kersey didn’t like me, she positively loathed Richard Milnes. I’ve corresponded with him; apart from misunderstanding Islam and endorsing the pathetic EDL, he is basically sound.

The comment at the bottom is almost certainly from Sewell. After my last run in with the latter, she didn’t publish on the site for several weeks, so it may be that she was sanctioned or warned too, although her specious article about the exploding toilet was not deleted. She is spot on though with her reference to AFP articles; including these does rather defeat the point of the site.

The quality of Kersey’s articles was appalling, and indeed like Sewell’s aforementioned urban legend cameo, a lot, probably most of the articles on the site are simply paraphased or rewritten from the mainstream media. There are some honourable exceptions, but the low standard is sadly typical not simply of so-called citizen journalist websites but of much of the mainstream media. A few examples will suffice.

Here is another daffy woman – Gullible Greta – writing about rad-fem airhead Landen Gambill. And here is Yours Truly. (Would you believe this woman claims to have worked as a law enforcement officer? Yet here she is, paraphrasing a press release by an agenda driven special interest group, or even an individual with a grievance, and palming it off on the world as the Gospel truth, so pathetic yet so typical).

Here is a recent article of mine from AllVoices trashing a London Metro report on Sharia-compliant wills. I could go on, but by now the point should be taken.

Re the above, Wilkins is a breed apart. Most blacks I know are revolted by homosexuality; he on the other hand promotes this perversion at every opportunity. No, he’s not one himself. He can also find racism in an egg cup.

Worse by far than Wilkins is very occasional contributor Michael Terron; he too endorses all this gay liberation garbage, and is still looking for a handout from the reparations movement. Don’t hold your breath, dude. Amusingly though, or perhaps not so amusingly for her, his abdication from the mythical patriarchy did not deter him from beating his wife. What a pathetic bunch of losers.

As I said, there are honourable exceptions, including North Virginia housewife Leigh Goessl who has produced some amazing photographs, and microbiologist Tim Sandle, most of whose articles go over the heads of a general readership.

One thing I noticed about the site is that although a fair number of Jews write for it, they have no time for the Zionist entity. The exceptions are Lesley Lanir who might be forgiven as she lives there, and goy Larry Clifton.

It has now been well over a month since I was booted from the site, and my days are as short as ever. To be frank I had also I think reached indeed excelled the parameters I could have hoped for, and it is in any case time to move on. Frankly I didn’t expect to still be here in 2014, but that is another story.

The articles listed below were all published initially on/in Digital Journal. The reasons they are republished here are explained at the end of each. There’s only half a dozen to begin with [and two blogs – external links already (re)published], but I will add more as time permits.
