Jump straight to Jokes
The domain sickipedia.org was registered March 27, 2006. I cannot remember when I found it but I signed up with the site on or about December 21, 2013 though it was not until March 2014 that I finally posted a joke that was not deleted within a few minutes or a few hours. Jokes could be voted up or down, by one point, and if they were voted down by a certain number of people they were buried. If I recall, initially, any visitor to the site could vote but after the hack (see below) only site members could vote on them. I had some friendly correspondence with a site member (perhaps a moderator) about this at the time.
Early in 2016, it was hacked and the site was down for several months. I published an article about this on March 16 that year. The site reappeared later the same year as sickipedia.net and I contributed my first joke to the new site on October 17, 2016. After that, I was a fairly regular contributor, sometimes contributing several jokes a day or only a couple a week. Almost all the jokes I posted were my own, with the caveat that someone may have come up with the same or very similar joke before, perhaps centuries before! Once or twice I suggested new categories or sub-categories, and on at least one occasion, my suggestion was accepted. All was fine until...
On October 16, 2025, I uploaded two jokes. Each was awarded seven points. By the following day, they had been deleted, not voted down, deleted. I contacted the site to ask why, but was ignored. On October 23 when I logged on, I found all my jokes had been deleted. Every single one. I contacted the site, but again I was ignored.
As that great philosopher and convicted rapist Mike Tyson once said so aptly: “People basically suck”.
Today, I have begun to upload here the jokes I submitted, my own compositions. As so many are dated, I have also added a Notes Page to explain their meanings, those that are not obvious to anyone who is reasonably fluent in English. If there is a joke you do not understand, click the nearest Notes Page link to it and scroll down (or up) as necessary.
The first jokes are in chronological order from October 17, 2016. None of the earlier ones were dated although it is possible to date some of them within a day or two, perhaps precisely, on account of their subject matter. A few have been archived with the Wayback Machine. Many if not most of my jokes were based on stories in the news, often on the actual headlines.
A mere 44 jokes have been added today. A lot more will be added as time permits.
