Alexander Baron And The ITMA Label:
A Selected, Annotated, Chronological Bibliography
(1991)

A mention of one of my limericks from the Pentatette, Vol 9, No 8, May 1990 and of The Story Of Bonnie And Clyde, both on Super Trouper, No 8.

This tape is undated but was obviously put out after May 1990. I have a feeling it was 1991. I think I sent Andrew a copy of the Pentatette, although I can’t remember at this distance.

THE WICKEDEST WOMAN
IN THE WORLD
(and other stories of sexual perversion)
by Alexander Baron, published by I.T.M.A., London, (1991).

A 19 page A5 pamphlet covering Countess Elizabeth Bathory, the Marquis de Sade, Vlad the Impaler and Gilles de Rais with a bit of comment about Ted Bundy thrown in.

I didn’t sell many copies of this but clearly somebody liked it because in July 2014 I found the essay about Vlad on The Vampyre Site.

SCHLOCK HORROR AS
DOG EATS DOG!
, published in Third Way, 17/1/1991, page 16.

An uncredited article reviewing two books.

PV WORDSEARCH, published in Pensioners’ Voice, March 1991, page 7.

A wordsearch. Uncredited.

MAKING SENSE
OF THE CENSUS
, published in New Computer Express, issue 130, 4th May 1991, page 8.

I thought this was commissioned as a feature but Editor Andy Storer ran it as a news piece. Edited to house style.

Birdwood faces trial, published in Searchlight, June 1991, issue 192, page 7.

I’m 99% certain that the hand holding the camera on the right of the photograph is mine. I was wearing a black leather jacket at the time, and this certainly looks like a leather jacket here.

URGENT
Join the campaign to outlaw religion now!

A spoof leaflet/petition I put out anonymously taking the piss out of Mary Whitehouse. Undated, but I believe it was published early in 1991.

A confident leap with the God of the gaps published in Topical BOOKS, Spring 1991, Number 3, pages 17-8.

Three books reviewed.

Beauty and the fact... ...the fact and the data-bank published in Topical BOOKS, Summer 1991, Number 4, page 16-7.

Book reviews. This is either one article or two, depending on how you read it.

Letter published in Topical BOOKS, issue 5, Autumn 1991, page 4.

“Sir: What is a health food?” Credited to Al Baron Sydenham, London, I’m sure this was actually written as an article but somehow it found its way onto the letters page.

Let Us Pay published in Topical BOOKS, issue 5, Autumn 1991, pages 13-4.

A review of the book The Secret World of Cults. Not my title, if I recall.

Rip-offs, tip-offs and let-offs published in Topical BOOKS, Winter 1991, Number 6, pages 13-4.

Alexander Baron describes the proliferating opportunities for the modern criminal and how the police are trying to get their share of the action. Book reviews.

A question of evidence, published in the BOOKS & COURSES supplement to SOLICITORS JOURNAL, 4 October, 1991, Vol 135, No 38, page xviii.

A review of the book A Question of Evidence: Who Killed the Babes in the Wood?

A letter in the LETTERS section of New Computer Express, Issue 152, 5th October, 1991, page 22.

From Al Baron via Aspects. Ie it was downloaded from ASPECTS bulletin board, run by Dave Gorski in Manchester.

Two book reviews, well, a booklet and a pamphlet, actually.

One is untitled, the other published under the title A RACE APART?, both from page 16 of Third Way, 11/10/991 [sic].

Travel Days, issue 1, unnumbered, published for the 1991 World Travel Market, November 1991. The pages for this and all issues are unnumbered.

There were two versions of this launch issue, one which was put out before the start of the show, the other during the course of it.

Deluxe Paint II winners, published in PC Answers, December 1991, page 186.

This is a notice in a magazine – the winners of a competition, one of them being the non-existent TD Man! Or T D Man as he is alluded to here.

For background information on this now infamous individual, click here.

A brief quote from The Wickedest Woman in the World..., published in PALPI, Number 29, December 1991, page 17.

KING LOSING HIS CROWN, published in Travel Days, VOL. 1 ‐ ISSUE No. 3 ‐ DECEMBER 1991, page 2.

Emirates on the Up, same page.

DOWN UNDER LOOKING UP, page 4, same issue.

I think I wrote this.

Freedom of the Skies

a mixed blessing
for Airline Passenger
, same page.

I definitely wrote this.

I believe I wrote all of the above.

NIP IN THE AIR, same page, ie page 12.

I must have written this.

AIR INDIA, same page.

And this.

THE WINGS OF ITALY, same page.

And this.

HIGH FLIERS ONLY NEED APPLY – I definitely wrote this, it’s clearly my style. It was not entered on this page until September 18, 2015, having been entered into the article list erroneously as January 1992.
