Quiet Reason

No man bar fool or coward fears a shout,
And none but fool or bully gives it voice,
For righteous words put thuggery to rout,
And whispered logic gives it Hobson’s choice.

When arguments are weak, then reason fails,
The men are separated from the boys,
The flailing limbs, mad, senseless threats and rails
Prove: always, empty vessels make most noise.
