The Well Of Loneliness

I added this page because of the poor quality of the Sunday Express article of August 19, 1928, an unsigned editorial by James Douglas.

The first image below is a high quality scan of the beginning of the article.

The second is a poor quality scan of the full article, apart from the (facing) right edge.

The third image is a JPG of a scan of the microfilmed article.

The fourth image is a PDF of the third image, or more accurately it is the PDF from which the JPG was made. To view it properly you will need to save it to disk, open it with your PDF viewer, and resize accordingly. A personal observation here, I have found that on a desktop this file views best at 200%, and if you select the entire text, turning the background light blue, it shows up perfectly.

The final image is a scan of a page from the 2000 book Bound And Gagged... which has a chapter on this absurd affair. I draw your attention in particular to the final paragraph. Hilarious.
