Justice

Last week, a crooked businessman who’d done a clever fraud,
(Claimed VAT on krugerrands he’d smuggled from abroad),
Received a hefty fine for ripping off the Revenue
And four years loss of liberty with mailbag sewing too.

Today, a man who’d killed three girls (his daughters), was sent down
For six years, not a day more, by a judge at Oxford Crown;
Six years: three murders – two years each! How cheap a life they hold;
Four years for simply dodging VAT: how precious, gold.
