August 22, 2014: Shaneice Barksdale tells Detective Rocky Gregory she was indecently assaulted and digitally penetrated by Daniel Holtzclaw on March 12, 2014. (Under Oklahoma law that constitutes rape by instrumentation). Barksdale’s claim is shown to be false, and the following March she is charged with one felony count of false reporting. This was an incredibly serious allegation because Holtzclaw was facing multiple charges of sexual assault. In December 2015 he was (rightly) convicted on 18 of 36 counts against 13 women, and sentenced to 263 years behind bars.
Barksdale’s false allegation could have influenced the jury. She said she made it because she wanted to “help” the prosecution case. On March 30, 2016, after pleading guilty to filing a false report, she escaped with a non-custodial sentence including a financial penalty. Barksdale was one of seven people - five other women and one man - known to have made false allegations against Holtzclaw.
The two photographs below are of Holtzclaw and Barksdale respectively. Although cameras were not permitted for the actual trial, the verdict was broadcast live on the Internet. Like most of his kind, Danny Boy wasn’t so brave when he was on the receiving end; he actually burst into tears as the guilty verdicts were announced. At the time of writing, his supporters including Michelle Malkin, are trying to use Barksdale and the other false accusers to undermine the verdict, but their latest wheeze is that the poor bloke didn’t get a fair trial. Diddums.
