Thank You, My Love

Thank you, my Love, for being mine awhile,
And giving me a reason to exist,
Sweet Providence! We may have never kissed,
And I been ever nescient of your smile,
Drifting forever like a leaf in stream,
While shadowed, never guessing that your beam
Could penetrate the darkness, gild my soul
In light and love, to make a half-man whole.
Than you, My Love, for never doubting me,
For loving me so good, despite the bad,
For being blind to everything I be,
Except to virtues you believed I had.
My Love, there never was a love so true
As that you felt for me. And I for you.
