The letter of the law by Salaam Blackmore

This modest letter published in the Guardian newspaper in January 2001, exposes the tip of a very large iceberg. It remains to be seen to what extent the civil law - and possibly the criminal law - has been corrupted by this practise. It goes without saying that the people who control the system have many more, and far mor nefarious ways, of shafting the hapless litigant, and especially the defendant.
